We seem to always want to loose weight and we want to loose it fast. We want to get rid of those extra pounds and we want to get rid of them NOW! Quick fixes seem to be the easiest way out and at the spare of the moment they seem to be the ideal solution. From liposuction, to starvation diets, to juice cleanses, to soup diets, and to the lock yourself in the room diet. Enough is enough! I've seen it all and I was even tempted to try some of them out. It is in our nature to try to find the easy way out, but easy does not necessarily guarantee effective and lasting results. I always say whatever comes easy goes easy. If you loose the weight fast you will also gain it fast. We all come in different shapes and sizes, what we should learn how to do is embrace ourselves with all our imperfections. Fun facts you should all know before considering a new diet or lifestyle.

1) Having a balanced meal, aka your carbs/protein/veggies/fruits/dairy, is and will always be more effective than any FAD diet that promotes short-term weight loss.
2) Sometimes it is better to monitor your weight loss by checking how your clothes fit and not the number on your scale. You might be gaining muscle mass and muscle is heavier than fat. Seeing how your clothes fit is a more reliable way to measure your progress.
3) Being patient and looking for long-term results is better than being motivated and excited for quick fixes. Gradual weight loss is more likely to lead to weight maintenance.
4) Learn to love your body, love yourself for who you are not matter what your size is. Whether you are size 2 or size 12 learn to take care of your body this will motivate you to make the right decision. Self-loathing only makes things worse.
Last but not least you should all know that the ultimate body is not the Victoria Secret model prototype. Being imperfect is perfect. So no matter what size you are believe in yourself. Your body is your temple, learn how to take care of it.
From my plate to yours,
Maria
